diamonds from ash

bit of an update post; i don’t want to let the cobwebs collect.

today is the 58th day, consecutively, i have written something. today it was the prologue to a story completely unrelated to anything else i’ve been doing; 1475 words, finished before lunch.

my goal has been to do at least 500-1000 words daily, every day, no exceptions, and really to break 1000 on the daily. i’ve been doing the latter for a week now (915 words on november 25th, to my chagrin, but life happens).

i have a final fantasy xiv fanfic stalled on ao3, waiting for me to get back into the mood to write it, and an original series on scribblehub that i’m posting every wednesday and saturday, in short (1500-2200) chapters. the rhythm there is very good. the fanfic is a lot bulkier and requires more of me.

in the future i think smaller chapters will work best. the continuous movement is huge – the steady release on a regular basis, so as to not be forgotten in a deluge of other works.

i would like to do more poetry, which fits best here of all possible places i could post it. i will try to do more of that in the future.

i wish things were a little easier – life things in general, not to disclose too much. but it’s back to one step at a time, one day at a time, for now.
